Severe Weather Awareness Week Contest In-Person

Draw, paint, or digitally create an original work of art about Florida's sometimes severe weather.  Help promote Severe Weather Awareness Week (February 2-6, 2026),  in partnership with Osceola County Emergency Management, by entering the Severe Weather Awareness Week contest and  illustrating  what you would do  to prepare in one of these severe weather categories: lightning, marine hazards and rip currents, thunderstorms and tornadoes, hurricanes and flooding, extreme temperatures,  and wildfires.

All artwork should include a written safety message to help teach others about severe weather safety and preparedness.

Visit readyosceola.org for helpful information from Osceola County Emergency Management about what to include in your message.

Original artwork must be submitted via Osceola Library System's Biblioboard Submission page: https://osceolalibrary.librariesshare.com/severeweather. Submissions will be accepted between December 1, 2025 and January 17, 2026. Artwork will be reviewed after the submission deadline.  Contest is open to students grades K-12.

The winning artist will be invited to the Osceola County Emergency Operations Center to celebrate, and their artwork will be shared across the County on social media and displayed at the winner's local library!
