All Month - LitMag

Submit your original short story, poem and/or artwork for a chance to be featured in LitMag, the Osceola Literary Magazine! This year's theme is "Once Upon a Time". Reimagine a classic fairy tale, create a modern-day legend, or invent a fantasy world filled with magic, adventure and unexpected twists, drawing inspiration from myths, dreams or real-life moments that feel larger than life. Journey into the world of imagination to craft a tale, poem, or illustration that begins with "Once Upon a Time" and see where your story takes you!

Open to kids and teens ages 8-17.

All entries will be reviewed by special guest judges. Published selections will be in print and online, and their authors/artists invited to a reception for a live presentation of their creation. Submissions will be accepted from January 1-31, 2026, and can be up to 1000 words in length.

Submit your original piece of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or art via BiblioBoard: https://osceolalibrary.librariesshare.com/osceolalitmag.

A commemorative magazine will be made available at the Osceola Library System and a digital version available on BiblioBoard. One winning artist will have their art featured as the magazine's cover! Published within the magazine will be the written and art selections chosen by our guest judges. All other eligible entries will be included on BiblioBoard within Osceola Library System's Community Collections.
